CAT'S FOREHEAD（キャッツフォーヘッド）は作家の手からうまれたアートワークを販売するオンラインストアです。
できれば実際に個展会場に赴いて、作家と直接話をしたり作品を実際に手に取ったりしながら鑑賞を愉しみたいものです。私たちも可能な限り、現場に足を運んで作家や作品とふれ合う体験を大切にしています。
でもそのためには場所や時間（たまに体調）の全ての条件が整わないといけません。
そこで、オンラインでも作家や作品と直接（時にはそれ以上の）コミュニケーションしているような体験ができるように、作家のインタビューや作品を様々な角度から観られる動画を充実したオンラインストアをはじめました。
CAT'S FOREHEAD is an online store that sells artwork created by artists' hands.
It is always a pleasure to visit a solo exhibition site, talk directly with the artist, and hold the work in one's hands. We also value the experience of visiting the site and interacting with the artist and his/her work as much as possible.
However, we need to have all the right conditions in terms of place, time (and sometimes physical condition) to do so.
Therefore, we have launched an online store that features interviews with the artists and videos that show their works from various angles, so that visitors can experience direct communication (and sometimes even more) with the artists and their works online.

「アートってよくわからない」
そんな声をよく耳にします。
確かに（特に現代美術では）アートの歴史や文脈を理解した上で、この作品（作家）は新たな視点をどう提示し、どのように境界を広げようとしているのか？という知識や教養が求められることもあるでしょう。
でも私たちは「なんとなく気に入った」とか「この作家を応援したい」という理由で作品を手に入れても良いと思うのです。
投資目的ではなく、インテリアのように身近に飾って眺めるために手に入れることも、きっと人生を豊かにしてくれるはず。
それぞれの作家が生涯を掛けて得た知識や経験のひとしずくである作品たち。
私たちは「もっとカジュアルに作家と作品とのふれあいを楽しみたい」という気持ちを込めて、取り扱う作品のことを「アート」ではなく「アートワーク」と呼んでいます。
"I don't understand art."
We often hear such comments.
It is true that (especially in contemporary art), based on the history and context of art, knowledge and education may be required to understand how this work (artist) presents a new point of view and how he/she is trying to expand the boundaries of art.
But we think it is okay to acquire a work of art because "I kind of like it" or "I want to support this artist".
It will surely enrich our lives acquiring an art piece to display it close to us and look at it like an interior decoration, not just for investment purposes.
Each artist's artwork is a drop in the bucket of knowledge and experience that he/she has gained over their lifetime.
We call the works we handle here "artwork" rather than "art" to express our desire to enjoy more casual contact with the artists and their works.
〇CAT'S FOREHEAD
『CAT'S FOREHEAD（キャッツ フォーヘッド）』は直訳すると『猫の額（ひたい）』。同じ意味を英語では『There is not enough room to swing a cat in here』というそうです。
CAT'S FOREHEADを通じて世界中のユーザーが、日本のグラフィックカルチャーの存在をまるでみんなが猫の額ぐらいの小さな世界にいるかのように、身近に感じられるようなコンテンツを制作したいと考えています。
できれば『猫の額』を英語に直訳した時に感じる、ちょっとした違和感のようなものを楽しみながら。
私たちは2010年からの6年間、こんなスローガンを掲げて日本の興味深いグラフィックカルチャーを日英のバイリンガルの記事で紹介するWEBメディアとしてCAT'S FOREHEADを運営していました。
まだオウンドメディアも珍しかった時代に、他では取り上げることの少ないグラフィックアーティストのインタビューやカルチャーの動向をバイリンガルで配信していたことから、Apple社のiPad miniのマーケティングに取り上げられるなど、感度の高いユーザーから注目されていました。
2017年からはクリエイターの創作の源泉に迫る動画コンテンツ『Portrait Movie』シリーズの制作や電子書籍レーベルを立ち上げるなど、常にクリエイターの活動と伴走して参りました。
"CAT'S FOREHEAD" translates directly to "cat's forehead". In English, it means "There is not enough room to swing a cat in here".
Through CAT'S FOREHEAD, we hope to create content that will make people around the world feel familiar with Japanese graphic culture, as if everyone were in a world as small as a cat's forehead.
We would like to enjoy the slight sense of discomfort when "cat's forehead" is translated directly into English if possible.
For six years starting in 2010, we ran CAT'S FOREHEAD with this slogan as a web media that introduced interesting graphic culture in Japan through bilingual articles in English and Japanese.
At a time when owned media was still a rarity, we were delivering bilingual interviews with graphic artists and cultural trends that were rarely covered elsewhere, and we were featured in the marketing of Apple's iPad mini and attracted the attention of highly sensitive users.
Since 2017, we have always accompanied artists in their activities, including the production of the "Portrait Movie" series of video content that delves into the source of their creations and the launch of an e-book label.
